Help

Short answers to the things people ask in their first week. Anything else: reply to any ShipLock email and a person reads it.

Signing in

The sign-in link says it has expired. Links work once and for 15 minutes. Ask for a new one on the sign-in page; there is no limit.

No email arrived. Give it a minute and check spam. If it is still missing, make sure you typed the address you signed up with. There is no password to reset, so this is the only thing that can go wrong.

I signed in on my phone, now I'm on my laptop. Ask for a link there too. Each device stays signed in for 30 days.

Links and sharing

Someone says "this link no longer works". Either it was revoked, or a character got lost in copying. Open the app in your dashboard, revoke the old link under Sharing, make a new one and send it fresh.

Someone has a link who shouldn't. Revoke that one link. Everyone else's keeps working. A revoked link stops at once, even if the page is already open on their phone.

Can I print a link? Yes. Every new link comes with a QR code and a "Print a card" button. A phone camera turns the code back into the link. See Stick it on the fridge.

I lost the card, or want another copy. On the link's row press "New copy". You get a fresh code and card for the same link; every copy of the old one stops working, which is what you want if the old card went missing.

Can it tell me when someone adds something? Yes. On the app's page, under Data, tick "Email me a daily summary of new entries". One email a day, only on days something was added, with the newest entries in it.

Can I stop people adding after Friday? Yes. Open the app, find Entries from Add-only links, and pick Until a time, Set hours (days and times, in your time zone) or Closed. Add-only links then see a sentence instead of the form; you and your edit links are never limited. Closes Friday at five. It means it.

What can each link do? View only looks. Add only adds entries and cannot see what others added, like a form. Edit looks and changes anything. You can change a link's role later without sending a new one.

I shared by email and they can't get in. They must type exactly the address you entered. The sign-in mail goes to that address, works once and lasts 15 minutes. Once they are in, every app you share with that address opens without another mail.

Messages an app can show

"This app is resting." A Free account has 5 GB of transfer a month, and this account has used it. Every app comes back on the 1st, nothing is lost. Plus has 50 GB. Reply to any ShipLock email if you want Plus now.

"This app is busy." A lot of people opened it in the same minute. It clears itself in a minute. Plus accounts have ten times the room.

"This app is full." Each app has its own storage for entries and photos: 20 MB on Free, 500 MB on Plus. Delete old entries or photos under Data, or ask for Plus.

"This trial app has expired." The app was made with a 7-day trial key from an AI and was never claimed. Claiming it (telling the AI your email) makes an account and keeps the apps. After the week, plus a week of grace, trial apps are removed.

Your data

Where is it? On our server in the United States. Your apps, their entries and photos stay there until you delete them. We make no outside calls with your data: no analytics, no AI reading your entries.

Can I get it out? Yes, any time. Every collection downloads as a CSV from the Data page, every app's source downloads from its Versions list, and photos download one by one from Data.

Delete an app. Open it under Apps and press Delete at the bottom. Its links stop at once and it moves to a Deleted list at the bottom of Apps for 30 days, where Restore brings it back with its entries, photos and versions. After 30 days, or if you press "Delete for good", it is gone.

I deleted an app by mistake. Scroll to the bottom of Apps and press Restore. It comes back at its old address; make fresh links for it.

Delete my account. On the Account page, press "Close my account". Your apps go offline at once. Everything is deleted 30 days later. Changed your mind? Sign in again before then and the account reopens with your apps in Deleted, ready to restore.

Change my email. Not yet self-serve. Reply to any ShipLock email and we move the account.

Plans

What happens after my 30 days? You keep every app on the Free plan: 3 apps, links, 5 GB a month. Nothing is deleted. If you have more than 3 apps they all stay up; you just cannot add a fourth until you are on Plus or delete one.

What does Plus cost? Nothing yet. There is no card to enter anywhere. When Plus has a price you will hear first, and you can export everything and leave.

Can I get more time on Plus? Ask. Reply to any ShipLock email.

Making apps

The app my AI made looks wrong. Use the Preview button before you share. Then ask the AI for the change you want rather than fixing the code; publish the new file and the links stay the same. If the new version is worse, make the old one live again from Versions.

I made an app on the front page without signing in. Where is it? It is a trial: yours for 7 days from that phone or browser, with the links the page gave you. It is private only, and it wears a ShipLock banner across the top. Put your email in under the card (or tap Keep this app on the banner) and open the link we send; the banner comes off, the apps move into your account with no expiry, and every link you already sent keeps working.

Can I use my own domain? Not yet. Every app lives at its-name.shiplock.app.
